  • Is icon/logo design (as a product) something you'd want?

I've been designing logo's and icons for years, in addition to my UX work. Is an icon/logo design as a product something you, as a SaaS founder, would be interested in? I'm thinking of a one-time payment for hand made (no AI) high-quality logo, icon or icon set. €199 for an icon €299 for an icon set €499 for a logo Something like that. But open for suggestions. What do you think?

Sure, I see nothing wrong with those prices, you could charge even more, depending on how much you value yourself and your work, and how important is that work for the client. You've been designing logos for years, you invested time and money in order to be able to create professional high quality work. Don't listen to all the people who say they wouldn't pay whatever and try to convince you that you have no value, just because they can find other people to do it much cheaper. If we're to follow their example, how about finding someone who can do it for free, after all it's just a bunch of zeros and ones. Higher price doesn't mean better work, like cheaper doesn't mean better value. It's all just a game of how much you value your work and how much the client values their business and the impact of what they need on their value. Good luck!

Yeah - but nowhere near those prices.

@philipsnyder what prices would you consider more reasonable?

@toolboxofdesign Really depends on who your targeting with this service - but I doubt an indie builder would pay 500 pounds for a logo. The tradeoff for a mediocre vs a good logo isn't high enough in my opinion to justify spending 500 pounds.

@philipsnyder That's a good point. Maybe starting SaaS founders aren't the right audience for a logo service like that.

Hi! Will it be a SaaS product or will you work by yourself on all the icons? If so, what's the difference with going to Upwork/Fiverr and get a designer there? What is the product? Thanks

For me, trying medium bets: buying a package of logo, font, colors, samples of brand images, social media background images would be high value at 500 price range. Save a lot of time

€499 for a logo. Nah. lots of handmade logo gigs available much cheaper. What USP would you have to charge 499?

@kkumarkg Handmade, high-quality by a proven and experienced designer, revisions included, one flat fee, no hidden fees.

@toolboxofdesign like you said to @philipsnyder, perhaps Startup SaaS is not the audience?
