Is it considered unprofessional to include my photo on my resume if I want to work in the U.S.?

Just remember that people can judge you and take decisions based on how you look, your age, your religion, and so many other things. I would advise against it unless your appearance is your strongest "skill" in there.

No it's not. You can add your professional photo, it gives more personality to your resume.
I think it depends on the job. Another way of doing it would be to link to a website that had more information about you and your projects that also contained a bio page with a photograph.
In the United States, it is generally recommended not to include a photo on your resume, unless specifically requested by the employer. The U.S. has strict anti-discrimination laws, and employers are discouraged from making hiring decisions based on factors such as appearance, race, age, or gender. Including a photo on your resume could inadvertently provide personal information that may bias the hiring process, potentially going against the principles of equal opportunity. But once again, unless it is requested. When I was searching for a job as a TV presenter I had to include my picture because it was a TV show and they needed to see my appearance. I took one of the pictures I made for my visa, and btw I did it by myself using my phone camera and https://photogov.com/. They hired me!) I am still working there.
I have never included my photo on my resume. I don't like how I turn out in photographs, although I love photographing everything around me. One day I visited the site https://skylum.com/how-to/how-to-make-a-picture-look-like-a-polaroid and found out how I can take retro photos. It's hard to find a Polaroid camera these days. But thanks to the helpful instructions, you can take a good photo in retro style.
