Is it really important to build a community around your product?

Working in a community filled with fans and brand advocates could be an excellent way to get your product out there! The problem is, that everyone who has tried knows that the process takes a lot of work, planning, and creativity… Launching a new product is already quite challenging, and building a community in parallel seems like an ambitious move. How well do you think building a community around a product works? If you have already tried it, how did it go?

I have not tried it but I'm part of many communities and I think it's an excellent way to build relationship with the audience. I support founders I like and provide feedback for their product. When they go live on PH, I upvote too!
