  • Is LinkedIn actually replaceable?

I mean, if the perception is that all businesses and jobs are there now, people wouldn't leave for another app if they are looking for a job or hiring and they know there are less options there. So do you think it's possible for someone to build a better LinkedIn with less promo and more realness but still serve professionals - or is that market eaten up by them already? Please share thoughts!

Nothing's impossible... but there would need to be some incentives or gamification to get people sticking around and contributing.. Let me know what you think!

@jonwesselink Gamification is a great way to network/build/grow authentically. I have my eye on one start-up in particular the is way ahead in this space. I will be posting here when they go live :D

Network effects are reallllly strong. Maybe indeed with incentives and a one-click onboarding that copies your LinkedIn data to your new profile. Probably best chance if you already have a job matching platform with a bunch of profiles and then start adding social features.

Your best bet might be to leverage an existing job matching platform with a plethora of profiles and then gradually incorporate social features.
