Hello everyone,
TL;DR: I am looking for some advice to know whether or not PH is the right platform to promote a personal care product I have been working on lately, and if anyone has done something similar in the past (i.e. promoted a non tech physical product), I'd be forever grateful for some advice in that space.
Long version:
I have been working on a new kind of deodorant for a few months now, I started it because for many years, and after trying virtually every brands, I could not find anything that would be respectful of my body (natural, aluminum free, gentle on the skin), would not feel sticky, greasy or flaky, and that would actually work as a deodorant (i.e. it would prevent the sweat from being broken down by bacteria, and there fore would prevent the smell, not just cover it). Additionally, most of the natural deodorant I tried had so many ingredients that I wondered to what extent those ingredients were actually needed in a deodorant.
By studying the science behind body odor and making numerous experiments on the formula as well as on the form factor of the product (for example, having the appropriate form factor can help make a cleaner product by reducing the need for preservatives and such), I ended up creating a final product that feels great, works pretty well, checks all the boxes I mentioned above, and contains very few ingredients.
Now that I have a first version product that I feel like sharing (call it 1.0) and a website to tell people about it and why their armpits would love it, I'm trying to do two things:
1. I am trying to get as many people as possible excited about my product, buy one and try it so I can get their feedback and work with them to improve it (everyone is different, and even though it works great on me and on the few people that already tested it, I'm sure there is room for improvement).
2. I am trying to get some visibility around the brand to start building momentum and make the business a real thing, because what I've been doing for deodorants, I eventually want to do it for a variety of personal care products (but hey, you've got to start somewhere, right?).
I am thinking that PH could be a platform where I could promote my product, but I don't want to blow it. I would be eternally grateful for some good advice from some of you who went through promoting a similar kind of product/project, or even who know someone who did go through it!
Cheers!
