I'm just curious for those people or someone who wants to start their own social networking platform or app. Is it still relevant or too late to start a social media platform? Are there any chances to beat the giants like Facebook or Twitter?

Nope, I don't think there's any chance of competing in this field.
Starting a new social media platform can definitely still be relevant in today's digital landscape. While there are established giants in the industry, there is always room for innovation and differentiation. By focusing on a niche audience, unique features, or a specific market need, a new platform can carve out its own space and attract users. It's all about offering something different and valuable that sets you apart from the competition.

There might be space for very niche platforms catering to a particular community, but launching a one-serve-all giant like FB or Twitter will be super challenging - even Threads struggle to gain engaged audience, and that's with all Meta's resources
Same with BlueSky and Mastodon,

There's much room for innovation!
I won't say more about this since I do plan a new platform, but are the shortcomings of the current giants not obvious?
Threads was not successful because it had zero innovation.

Starting a new social media website or platform is still relevant but highly challenging. While the market is dominated by giants like Facebook and Twitter, there are opportunities for niche platforms that cater to specific interests or offer unique features. Success depends on innovation, understanding user needs, and effective marketing. Competing directly with established giants is difficult, but carving out a unique niche can lead to success.
Thank you

Considering the ever-evolving digital landscape, starting a new social media platform is like diving into a tech-savvy ocean - challenging, yet full of possibilities! Who knows, you might just create the next big wave that even Facebook and Twitter can ride on!
I think the chances you have to compete with large corporations as Facebook or Twitter are very low. But it's not about the competition, is about the product. If you're able to offer better quality or you're focused on a new niche, you will succeed. Those companies are so big, they can't even change a lot in a short time, you can.
