Is tele-marketing really dead?

I saw this movie the other day, "Death of a Telemarketer", and couldn't stop thinking. I know this was supposed to be comedy and all😅, but it really had me thinking: "what if tele-marketing truly is outdated?" B2B brands, how are you effectively replacing the place of cold-contacting in 2023? Personally, I don't like cold calls hard-selling me anything.
