Issues Installing Yay Helper on ArchLinux - Need Help

I'm having trouble installing the Yay AUR helper on ArchLinux. After cloning the repository with git clone "https://aur.archlinux.org/yay.git" and running makepkg -si in the directory, the build fails or gives dependency errors. I've tried updating the system and reinstalling base-devel, but the issue persists. Is I missing something or a better way to install Yay on Arch? Any suggestions for troubleshooting this would be really helpful!
