๐Ÿค—Hey Product Hunt friends, Last Thursday, I launched my screenshot tool here that called Gemoo Snap 2.0. Although I have launched 3 times on Product Hunt before, this was my 1st self-launch instead of going through a hunter. Additionally, the way Product Hunt works has changed a bit this year, so I made some mistakes that resulted in disappointing results in terms of upvotes. If any of you are planning to self-launch your product in the future, it might be helpful to read this article and avoid making the same mistakes as me, which could greatly reduce the exposure of your product. TL;DR โณ - Create a teaser for your launch to get more support ๐Ÿš€ - Choosing the right launch time is critical ๐Ÿ•’ - Donโ€™t forget to change the launch status ๐Ÿ”„ - Investing time in building community supports ๐Ÿคผ Since I cannot attach images here and they are necessary to express what I want to share, if you want to learn details about my experience and avoid mistakes I made, you can read my original post on my blog site here: ๐Ÿ”— https://gemoo.com/blog/learn-from-my-latest-product-hunt-launch.htm Remember, launching a product is just the beginning of its journey. Keep in touch with the community, express gratitude for their support, and stay engaged as you refine and enhance your product.

Thanks so much for sharing that, it was very informative and learnt a lot! Except for the teaser, did you see any other advantages/disadvantages from launching by yourself instead of going through a hunter? When launching your next product, do you think youโ€™ll launch by yourself again?

@navinpeiris I think it depends on the type of product I launch next time. I decided to self-launch this time since itโ€™s an updated version of Gemoo Snap. It already has a certain number of users and supporters, so I can get it popular quickly even if I launch it by myself. After that, we need to rely on organic traffic. Typically, the more upvotes a product has, the more people will check and support it. So my opinion is that if your product is brand new and has no original users, finding a hunter to help you launch it can make it get early attention.
