Hey everyone! 👋 I've been diving deep into the enigma of the Product Hunt feature process and wanted to share some insights and a bit of a personal challenge. It's quite the puzzle, isn't it? 🧩 Firstly, I've come to realize that getting our products on the homepage isn't just a straightforward result of our hard work and the community's support. There's this intricate algorithm behind the scenes, and it's kind of elusive in how it selects the featured products. Does anyone have any insights on this? 🕵️‍♂️ I've noticed some awesome products with heaps of upvotes and lively discussions that didn't make it to the front page immediately. It's a tad disheartening, but I guess that's part of the journey, right? 😕 On a brighter note, I've seen products get featured a day or more after launch. So, it's not all about the launch day hype, which is reassuring. Has anyone else seen this happening? Understanding Product Hunt, its community, and the success stories of similar products is crucial. It's not just about our products, but how they resonate with what the PH community is passionate about. 🌟 Building an audience before launching and actively participating in the community seems crucial. I've been engaging more – upvoting, commenting, and even considering joining a meet-up. It's all about genuine connections, not just self-promotion. Any seasoned PH members have tips to share? Choosing the right time to launch seems to be a strategic move. Avoiding days with a lot of noise and considering quieter times might give us an edge. What strategies have worked for you? If we do get featured (keeping my fingers crossed 🤞), it's vital to use that opportunity wisely. A clear, compelling product description and active community engagement can make a huge difference. Now, on a personal note, I'm finding it challenging to grow my following for JaevesAI, an AI tool for creating content, images, STT, TTS, Code and even uploading images and discussing about them and translating them etc. Currently, at 136 followers, despite our best efforts. 😳 Here's the link: https://www.producthunt.com/products/jaeves-ai-content-generator. Any advice on boosting those numbers? Every launch teaches us something. There's always feedback to be had and improvements to make for the next round. I'd love to hear your thoughts, tips, and any personal experiences you're willing to share. Let's help each other out! Cheers to growth and learning! 🚀

I hope your assessment is inaccurate and we do not have to engage in social gimmicks in order to get attention for legitimate product value. Do you have any examples of low quality products that got a lot of attention based on the maker having interacted with the community? Is there evidence that community interaction can substitute for legitimate market demand? I'm looking at JaevesAI and it seems like there's tremendous competition in AI content generation. Is your product free or some kind of fine tuned model? Is it just a prompt and an openai API call?

I think we should: 1. We, the subscribers, will try to bring whoever we can to the day. And I think it's worth doing a release advertising the product and publicize it: Us, each subscriber in the blog / it is not difficult, give ready text and photo we will publish the ANONS/. 2. Advertising ANONSA in META and Google, I don't think they will pass but it's worth a try.-1 day. 3.LinkdIn. subscribers will make a repost on their pages. On the day of the launch: 3. Advertising in PRODUCT HUNT is expensive, but necessary. 4. Repeat points 1-3

@elena_kasyan Hi Elena, your strategy for leveraging subscribers and advertising across various platforms, including Meta, Google, and LinkedIn, sounds comprehensive and proactive. It's especially smart to provide ready-made text and images for easy sharing. While Product Hunt advertising may be costly, it could be indeed a valuable investment for future launches. Your multi-faceted approach, combining organic outreach with targeted advertising, seems well-suited to maximize the product's launch impact. Great thinking!

The featuring process is mainly based on manual curation by the product hunt team. If you don't get featured in the 30 first minutes of launch, you can try to ask their support to get featured.

@fabian_maume Hi Fabian, thanks for sharing your insights. It's interesting to note a potential shift from manual curation to an automated algorithm for Product Hunt's feature process. While I'm not certain about the current mechanism, as this is based on what I've read previously, your tip about the first 30 minutes of launch is still incredibly valuable. Understanding and engaging with the community, especially as processes evolve, is key. Appreciate your contribution to the discussion!
