  • Paying for outreach to support for launch on LinkedIn - What do you think about it?

I know it is not paying for votes but recently I had multiple people DMing me to support a launch that they called "their launch." When I went to look at their LinkedIn profiles they were not linked to the company, profiles were bare or irrelevant but belonged to all the PH groups, and were not listed as makers. It just didn't particularly sit right with me and I wanted to see how the community felt about it. Would love to get your take on it: 1. Am I being too sensitive about hiring "promotional" help for a launch? 2. Is it any different from paying for marketing or influencers to advertise your launch? (Maybe it's the fact they are positioning themselves as part of the company and not just promoting it?) Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk 🎤😂

@charlie_choi3 As long as they are actual makers or attached to the company launching I don't mind supporting!

It's understandable to feel uneasy about people positioning themselves as part of a launch when they are not actually affiliated with the company. It's important to ensure authenticity and transparency in promotional efforts.

@yokiyoki agreed! Most people who reach out to me are genuine and will always do my best to support their launches - so it was kind of surprising when I encountered it!

@yokiyoki i agree, maintaining authenticity should be maintained by the founders. Abusing anything will affect future opportunities and more struggle for launching on PH. Since PH is a community driven platform so its easy road by getting visibility within community and outside, getting knownd and launch which will bring success but i think people are just on rush to quick gain which is not sustainable.
