Podcasting as Part of Build in Public

Hey Product Hunt community! Three months ago I got a discussion going here in the merits and challenges of podcasting as part of building in public. Well, we did it!

For our product, Trelliswork (launching soon), we started a weekly podcast with the intention of being "radically transparent" in what we were up to. We've really pushed to make sure it doesn't turn into a marketing exercise, and instead just get together every week to work through whatever pressing topics happen to be in front of our five person team. It's been a great experience! A few thoughts:
- We're not over thinking it. We commit an hour per week to record, and do pretty limited editing. It's not our priority as a company, so we definitely time box it.
- As a startup headed toward launch, currently in alpha, there's no shortage of topics we need to work through, big and small. Our editorial process is basically just to pick to podcast topic for that week in our Monday standup. Honestly, recording has often doubled as a product working session for key topics.
- It has paid off. We have found that users, partners, and investors all see it as a "scrappy" marketing move, and it legitimately has helped us build our community and pipeline for alpha users. And of course, we have a listening audience now!
All in all we're very glad we did it. Anyone else doing a podcast at their startup? What has your experience been? Any tips or experiences to share?

Interesting strategy and approach to build in public. Keeping an eye out for any learnings you get along the journey.

This one's a great example of us basically doing an hour long product ideation and priority session... and also recording it for the podcast! https://www.trelliswork.com/podc...
