Hey all,
I am considering building a community for EarlyBird users, which platform would you suggest, Slack or Discord? Why?

Slack caps message history for free plans. So no history.
If you care about message history, probably Discord even though their UI is bad. :)

For EarlyBird users I guess Discord will be good. You can have lot more fun on it.

I like discord better. I never really liked Slack. I wish IRC would make a comeback 🥸
I think Discord would be better since you can do many things there.
I'd also opt for Discord (well, that's actually what I did for the Endel community: https://discord.gg/endelsound)
They've been developing the platform with a focus on communities, so you'll always have social / fun / fancy features to experiment with. The bots (or internal apps) are also worth checking out.

Discord !!!
I guess it depends on what kind of app you are in. Slack is more "serious", while Discord is more chill-out. If you are building an app for geeks, indie hackers, or any 2C product, highly recommend Discord
Discord for community, Slack for my team
Discord is just easier to use but has less team oriented features

Discord is a platform suitable for increasing more community engagement.

I think Discord would be better, sometimes people don't wanna check slack after work hours :)
