the death of innovation?

Lately, I've been scrolling through product hunt and I notice a bunch of recycled ideas.
Sales AI, Email AI, AI Website creator, a revolutionary product management tool, and don't even get me started on the chatbots.
All ideas we've seen before.
Is this the death of innovation?
I remember when this place used to be a launchpad for some of the most groundbreaking products and ideas but recently I've been getting a sense of déjà vu. It feels like we're seeing different versions of the same concept, repackaged with a new UI and a catchy name.
Are we playing it too safe, sticking to tried-and-tested formulas instead of building hard shit?
What are your thoughts? Are we in an innovation lull, or am I just being nostalgic?

Michael, you've hit the nail on the head. It does seem like many are just adding a wrapper on top of GPT and calling it a 'new product'. While GPT is powerful, its real value comes when used innovatively. That's exactly what we're aiming for with MyNewsBuddy – not just another AI chatbot, but a genuine effort to use generative AI to provide users with personalized and valuable news updates. It's time to push the boundaries again and get back to building innovative solutions. If you're up for it, give MyNewsBuddy a shot and see AI being leveraged in a refreshing way!

AI is the new block chain. The only part I don't like is, much like crypto, you need to use a lot of energy in order for it to actually work. Weird how all the tech trends require immense energy use, there could be conspiracy there...
But I also do use AI in my project. That's not the highlight and is just an integration with your OpenAI API key, but still. If I'm going to use an ai product, I'm not going to use someone's expensive wrapper, I'm going straight to the source: OpenAI, Claude, AI12Studios, etc.

@backseosoftware one of the most promising use cases of AI is generating mundane code. I use that every day
