Let me give u some context. I am a Java Developer with 9 years of experience, I played with chatgpt, I'm using it every day, I'm not saying is bad, but it didn't really convinced me until now.
When I really had a more difficult issue, it didn't really helped me, I found the solution on my own in the end.
I feel that the provided solutions are pretty simplistic, I feel like i am back in college and I write stupid code. Other times, the options are too many and none of them works.
Also, sometimes, I feel hard to give some context considering the problem is not that obvious and because of the complexity of the project, the code divided in multiple classes etc.
What was your experience with ChatGPT? Did really helped u or is just a trend?

Being a developer doesn't necessary mean that you should know everything about a technology, but to know where to look. ChatGPT is really handy in this case. I often use it to generate for me basic functions which would take too much time for me just to write or to look up for them.
It's true that it doesn't to much when talking about complex implementations, but if you manage to split them into small pieces, you'll just have to combine them.

@andrei_otea , indeed, it is helpful, but from a developer point of view, I don't feel that I'm saving so much time by using it. I see somehow too much hype around it and I feel that it's not worth it, at least in our field.
