I guess one thing I noticed is the lack of preparation and the time spent on that. It is really important to connect with the community who will eventually help you out during the launch day

Not building an audience or creating buzz before the launch. Launching on weekends or holidays when engagement is typically lower. Using low-quality images, vague descriptions, or missing critical information. Not responding to comments and questions promptly. Making exaggerated claims that the product can't fulfill. Failing to maintain momentum post-launch by updating users or continuing engagement. Avoiding these mistakes can improve your chances of a successful launch.

@abbas143official Do you think DMing other indiehackers on X with whom you've never communicated is a positive or a negative?

Not hyping up or sharing the product in discussions a few weeks prior.

    – Bot answers. – Showing up 1 second before you need help. – The one thing I really cannot understand is to "boost" discussion – as a marketing tactic it could make sense but something similar I did when I was 11 or 13 and asked for reactions on Facebook. I probably grew up from that. 😃

Remember, on Product Hunt, avoid the classic blunders like posting at odd hours when everyone's asleep, forgetting to engage with the community, or trying to pass your product off as a cure for the common cold. Steer clear of those and you'll be on the road to Product Hunt glory in no time!

For me, the most common mistakes on Product Hunt are skipping the prep work and ignoring feedback. Make sure you have a solid plan, engaging visuals, and a clear value proposition. Plus, always take the time to respond to comments and take suggestions seriously—it can make a big difference :)

Not keeping a list of everyone who said they would support. Life gets busy and it's important to remind supporters day of the launch.

Ignoring feedback is another huge mistake. The community here can offer invaluable insights if you’re willing to listen.
