What are the current monetisation strategies for web apps?

Hi folks,
A month ago I released tweetpik.com and I have being trying to find a way to monetise it. At first, I tried to have a paid plan but no success and now, I'm going to try ads but I would like to know if there are other good alternatives.

On yizy.io we are trying a combination of freemium and subscriptions, but we just launched will have to see the results😊
