We're considering growing our community but can't decide on a platform.
On one hand, Slack seems like a good option, but it may be difficult for users to join.
What about Discord or Circle?

I really like the gamification in Discourse. Its also opensource and self hosted.
Try LinkedIn or Reddit.
The best platform for creating a product community depends on the specific needs and audience. Common choices include:
1. **Discord:** Great for real-time communication and engagement.
2. **Slack:** Ideal for team collaboration and community discussions.
3. **Facebook Groups:** Useful for building communities within existing social networks.
4. **Reddit:** Effective for fostering discussions and user-generated content.
Choosing the best platform for creating our product community depends on various factors, including our specific needs, audience, and the type of product or service we offer. But Here are some popular platforms that you can consider:
Discord, Slack, Facebook groups, LinkedIn groups.
@mattisssa - Slack and Discord may look very lucrative to build your community on. Having built several communities in the past 15 years; I'll strongly advise you against Slack/Discord.
Sooner or later, you will run into several issues:-
1. It becomes a mess once your active member count grows beyond 50. Engagement will lower drastically after the place become chaotic.
2. No organic growth: You'll constantly have to recruit users to your community. This will be fun in the initial days; but will become a pain quickly. Don't fall into the trap. Unless you have a strong reason to hide your content; go with a platform that lets users see the content and a vibrant place. Crowds will attract crowds and the quality of audience you'll build will be 10x better.
3. Limited functionality: User engagement will become a pain because Slack/Discord or even Circle will offer very limited options to engage users.
4. I used to be a fan of Circle; but not anymore.
It depends on your product and where its potential users are located. LinkedIn is popular for B2B, but for B2C, it's a bit more challenging, as there are more options.

Hey Man, i mostly seen people use Discord for community. I think if you have a audience, its better to know opinion to see where they are mostly available. And based on that you could decide better i believe.

Hey @istiakahmad! 👋
I understand your concern. We're unsure about what would be best for our current community.
We have a Telegram group (https://t.me/spellarai), but it doesn't appear to be effective. We're also uncertain about the most effective way to communicate with our users and determine their preferences.

@mattisssa i understand. I use Telegram and telegram is great but i believe telegram is not popular in west or people avoid telegram. On the other side Discord is popular. I believe wherever you create your community just spread the word and also try focusing on only 1 community and drive people there.. ( : , hope this make sense

Skool is going to be big now that Alex Hormozi also invested in.
Despite limited functionality, whatsapp is probably still in top 3 in terms of engagement.

@getsharp_au whatsapp? for a product community?
@mattisssa
It depends on your target customers.
Are they already using slack daily? No?, then don't build on slack.
Are they on reddit? No? then don't build on reddit.
But most people use whatsapp daily.
So, I'd go with path of least resistance.
Remove friction.

I think discord will be a good choice as it is easy to navigate and many people use it because they have user friendly experience. picasso app for movies is also also using this and they have such a great happy audience. I think you should try once.
