There are several potential drawbacks to using Shopify as an e-commerce platform, including:
Limited customization options for the platform's design templates
Additional transaction fees when using certain payment gateways
Higher costs for add-ons and apps compared to other e-commerce platforms
Limited control over SEO and the ability to optimize your site for search engines
Limited scalability for large and high-volume stores
Limited reporting and analytics capabilities
Keep in mind that these drawbacks may not necessarily be a problem for every business and it will depend on your specific needs.

Some of the main drawbacks that I observed while working on Shopify are mentioned below.
1- Cost: Shopify can be expensive, particularly for small businesses or those just starting out.
2- Customization: While Shopify offers many templates and themes, customization options can be limited, which can be a disadvantage for users with unique design requirements.
3- Technical Knowledge: Some technical knowledge is required to make the most of the platform, and users may need to rely on third-party apps or developers for more advanced functionality.
4- Transaction Fees: Shopify charges transaction fees on top of credit card processing fees, which can add up quickly.
5- App Store Quality: While Shopify's App Store offers a wide range of apps and plugins, not all of them are of the same quality, and some may be buggy or cause conflicts with other apps.
