Accumulating credit card points to get free tickets (well they are not technically free, but you can get a domestic flight ticket for under $10) • Track your miles and points using AwardWallet app. It lets you see all your points in one place and look for the possible transfer options in case you need to tip the scales for one particular program • Choosing affordability over comfort. By this I mean basic hotels, public transport instead of taxi, eating in cafes, not fancy restaurants. Of course, it’s not always the case and treating yourself is important, but it shouldn’t become a habit. • Travel off season. Even if you are aiming for a beach holiday where good weather is essential, you will still find time of the year when the place is less crowded and the prices are twice as low.

Don't take a Taxi everywhere unless you're travelling to a country where your country's currency has a high purchasing power, like the USD in South East Asia. Otherwise, travel like locals. Get a pass in Europe. Walk as much as you can. Good for your body and you will enjoy the city most.

Book accommodation in advance. I always use booking to do this. If you are flexible, there you can find really interesting offers and have a great vacation for really cheap. You can also contact their customer service here https://booking.pissedconsumer.c... to get to know about it more.

@siddhartha_dange Totally with you on #1. I have been able to travel so many places with my credit card rewards!

Don't always eat at the fancy restaurant. Learn where locals eat. Try a good restaurant once or twice if it has some speciality to offer. Like Sushi in Japan. Eating like locals will give you a sense of what locals eat, their customs and will be pocket friendly.

Here are some general travel hacks that can save you money: 1-Book flights in advance: Airfare prices can fluctuate greatly depending on when you book. Generally, the earlier you book, the better the deal. 2-Compare prices: Use comparison websites to find the best deals on flights, hotels, and rental cars. 3-Look for discounts: Many hotels and airlines offer discounts for students, military personnel, and senior citizens. 4-Avoid peak seasons: Traveling during off-peak seasons can save you money on both airfare and accommodation. 5-Use rewards programs: Sign up for rewards programs with airlines, hotels, and credit card companies to earn points or miles that can be redeemed for free or discounted travel. 6-Pack light: Avoid baggage fees by packing only what you need and traveling with a carry-on instead of a checked bag. 7-Use public transportation: Renting a car or taking taxis can be expensive. Consider using public transportation like buses, subways, and trains instead. 8-Eat like a local: Instead of eating at expensive restaurants, try street food or local markets to save unlimited money on meals. 9-Plan your itinerary: Plan your trip in advance and book your activities, tours and tickets ahead of time. It'll save you a lot of money and time. 10-Be flexible: Be open to different travel dates, destinations, and accommodations. Sometimes, being flexible can lead to great deals.
