A mixed bag for sure but videos / reels are easily the most engaging

Well, reels and posts are a great way to grab attention. Also, Carousel is good but the first slide should be appealing enough!
I will go with reels .... And i think instagram also gives priority to reels and short videos.
Reels are way too unique and interesting these days in terms of creativity, content etc.
Instagram posts: the ultimate attention grabber! 📸✨ With their visually appealing content, captivating captions, and a vast array of filters and editing tools, Instagram posts have become the go-to attention-grabbing medium. They effortlessly capture our attention, ignite our curiosity, and encourage engagement. Whether it's stunning landscapes, mouthwatering food, or adorable pets, Instagram posts never fail to enthrall us. So, if you're looking for an attention-grabbing platform, look no further than Instagram! And quotes can help you take your content to the next level. I use quotes from furoore for example. A well-chosen quote can transform an ordinary photo into a masterpiece on your Instagram profile.
Content types should be used in balance. Additionally, Instagram is currently reducing the importance of video content, meaning that regular posts will likely become more relevant again. As one of Instagram's key algorithms emphasizes the amount of time users spend on posts, carousels may prove to be more effective than single-image posts. Therefore, it is recommended that your Instagram strategy incorporates a variety of content types to maximize engagement and reach.
@dilanaydiin What are some examples of content types that could be incorporated into an Instagram strategy to maximize engagement and reach, in addition to carousels and regular posts?
@mehmettalhasisman Sure, actively using stories, keeping updated highlights, and creating an Instagram guide with your previous posts should be beneficial in maximizing engagement and reach.
Reels are more enjoyable.

I'm pretty impatient, so if I don't see the value in the first .5 second of the Reel I'll scroll right past it. But Posts are usually made to show the value/ask/ad all at once vs. having to wait 3-5 seconds to see what it's really about.
