    As others have mentioned, Reddit is sensible to ad spam, so it's a lot better to be part of the community (answering questions, helping others and so on) before sharing.     Reddit tends to be very hostile towards perceived spamming or any advertising. Redditors like an active community of people talking or helping each other out. Posting your product like an ad on a subreddit will usually either get downvoted or just get crickets. But Reddit can be great for idea validation.
