Which platforms or methods have you found most effective for finding freelance work?

In my experience, especially on social media, it's now common (or maybe it's the algorithm) for many social media users to attract attention by presenting a slice of their freelance work for a fantastic amount. Usually, they share some sort of small tips, and go on to do some sort of seminar or something like that.
