  • Why becoming a featured product is CRUCIAL!

Just look at the hunted.space board for TOURING of today and understand how much traffic we have lost in the first two hours of having Touring NOT featured. This is HOW MUCH traffic you get from being featured compared to not being it. Unless you pay for upvotes, which I'd strongly recommend against, this is what happens when you don't get in the featured section. Plenty of checklists online on how to do it, but none of them is a silver bullet: if you are not featured, contact Support and try to argue your case on why you should be. Sometimes, they just have too many products to check and the algorithm is not perfect.

Agree Gabriel! Interesting chart. Did you contact support to get featured where it rises rapidly in your chart? My other question is how & why are genuine upvotes automatically removed from a product's total on launch day? When Marlee launched (& we didn't pay for any upvotes either), but a few times, votes we had acquired were removed by PH. Why? I assume because they suspected they were bought, so if we didn't buy any upvotes, then how do we avoid this happening? We did email our community (users, investors, partners etc) and many weren't PH users, so they set up new accounts & voted - these comments are easy to spot on our page as they're very senior people with 0 followers - is this what causes suspicion? In which, case genuine products with genuine users aren't able to leverage comments from existing supporters. I'd love to know what's best practice here, from others who've launched many more products on PH than we have.

@emily_willis1 We faced the same problem: https://hunted.space/dashboard/a... and were the last ones to get featured. Something to do with their algorithm. I will also share my detailed journey of my current launch tommorow after the launch is over. In the meantime, can I ask your support for my launch? producthunt.com/posts/ai-community-by-ainave

@emily_willis1 Thanks Emily!! Here’s the discussion I have created to get the inputs from past makers and will compile them to share that post. producthunt.com/discussions/has-anyone-not-been-featured-for-their-launch-even-when-everything-seemed-fine

Yes, algorithm is not perfect and reaching out multiple times with some action from our side got us featured. I will also share my detailed journey of my current launch tommorow after the launch is over.
