Both the product are designed for two different battlefield.
chatGPT > Productivity
Google search > Transactional
We might see Google and Microsoft to come up with some AI utility in their productivity tools. Like doc, sheet, meet mails etc.

Interesting. How would that be possible in your mind?
Microsoft is currently working on integrating ChatGPT into Bing search, so it'll be interesting to see if there's any innovation that comes with that or it'll simply be bolted on.
Launching soon!
I think it will go hand in hand with the classic link output.
Similarly to what this extension already does:

Also, Google is developing its own chatbot – laMDA. They certainly are preparing for a distruption. But they want to make sure it's led by them.
No, ChatGPT will not replace the Google search engine in the near future. While ChatGPT is an advanced language model developed by OpenAI, it is designed to assist users in generating human-like text based on their input, and is not intended to replace a search engine like Google.
ChatGPT will never be able to kill Google Search, because Google is built on data! There is no company has the data like Google have!
