Will OpenAI kill Google’s search monopoly?

Keen to hear what everyone thinks about this question in today's PH newsletter. I tested ChatGPT Search & found it great for generalised topics where the general internet results are OK. But when you test it on specialized topics, it doesn't give you any links back to sites with expertise on the subject. I don't know about you, but if I want the answer (eg physical or mental health topics), I won't trust a robot making generalized statements from the World Wide Web with all its misinformation. I want to find answers from trusted experts and publishers, as well as trained journalists who have researched and provided balanced views on the topic. What does everyone else think?
