Your preferred way of learning: podcasts or old-school reading?

Most people in my circle listen to podcasts or webinars as a primary source of information. I'd love to be able to learn while commuting or doing housework - but I've never been able to concentrate enough.
I learn much quicker when reading. Is it normal?
What's your experience with podcasts?

I prefer reading but in a new format. There is a lot of information that I can only get from the Internet. It's pretty convenient. If you find great site then you just bookmark it and return to the desired topic when you need advice or an answer to a question. I'm used to reading in small volumes. So the information is better remembered. By the way, it would be ideal to consolidate the acquired knowledge through practice.

Almost exclusively Podcasts now! Also recently switched to Audiobooks
@maxwellcdavis do you listen to them while doing other stuff like commuting? Or do you concentrate?
For me, a webinar or reading is a good option. In some cases, it is better to see once than to read 10 times. But in general, I think that many education systems need to be adapted to different formats. My son goes to a Lutheran school https://ascensionschool.org/ and they don't have any new methods, technologies or anything cool to lure him into a better education

They can definitely supplement each other but picking up a book and annotating, interacting with text has shown to be more effective for majority of people. You cans find the studies online

I'm the same as you, I prefer reading. I get distracted when trying to listen to podcasts and I'll get through one episode only to realize that I wasn't paying attention.
For me, its podcasts and videos.
I perceive information better by ear. That's why I like podcasts and audiobooks. I was never quick at reading and thus it was hard for me to write as well. Thanks God there exist such services as https://letsgradeit.com/best-essay-writing-services/ to help me with that. I sure I have a mathematical structure of the mind, so I'm not upset lol.

People learn in different ways. Some people are good at listening, while others prefer to read. Whatever makes you feel comfortable is the right way to learn for you.

I prefer either way, as long as it's easy to consume and implement. It's also vital to take the value and implement learned things rather than consume any content.
Podcasts and webinars are great when you have the basic knowledge. They will help you generalize this knowledge, sort it out, fill in the gaps. But, if you do not have basic knowledge, then the effectiveness of podcasts and webinars will be much lower. Therefore, it is better to take reading as a basis. And podcasts and webinars are a good addition to reading.
@new_user_11620223ff4de5436 even when I have basic knowledge on the subject, I fail to concentrate when listening to a podcast.
@daniel_engels Perhaps you should rearrange your activities so that nothing distracts you while listening to the podcast.
Since my native language is not English, I find it much easier to follow written texts than a podcast or video.
