Being part of my son life (now 1 year) thanks to working remotely has been a blessing. Tandem was born out of the need to balance family life and high speed tinkering :)

With remote work on the rise, there's a growing need for more flexible, spontaneous, real-time communication. Tandem has put a lot of time into delivering a beautiful app that makes it dead-simple to talk with your team. We have a distributed team at YC and it can be a struggle to stay in sync. Several of the partners have tried this and we've been extremely impressed!

We've all worked on remote teams before, but even with our experience, we felt slower, less collaborative, and more alone when we worked remotely. We built a one-click calling prototype, added video and screenshare, and this eventually became Tandem. Some details on how ⚡️instant calls⚡️ work: - You can click on someone and talk immediately, but they will be on mute until they accept. - All calls start as voice, but can be upgraded to video and screenshare. - Customizable rooms are a nice way to invite teammates to talk when they're free. Some details on app presence: - Your teammates will be able to see which work app you're currently in (only for a select set of integrated apps) - this gives everyone a sense of being together, and helps you know when a teammate is interruptible. - You can go into Focus Mode if you don't want to be bothered, in which case your app will not be shown. Huge fan of Tandem so far! I heard about it through Bernat and think this is going to take distributed teams to the next level. What I love about it: - intuitive + beautifully designed UI - simple + easy to use - instantly connect to team members via video or audio chat - instantly share your screen I honestly feel like this is going to be a game-changer for working remotely. Excited to see the future of Tandem!

We've been using Tandem for a while now and find it to be a more seamless alternative to typing in '/call' in slack. The one-click connect is really sweet. Slack's still very sticky for our team but a quick release of a Linux version of Tandem made quite the difference. Super excited to to see where this product goes!

Once you go Tandem you can't go back. :) Instead of calling my co-founder or waiting for a ping reply I can now just talk to him on Telegram. Lowest friction way to communicate!

We're not a distributed team, so I am not sure if we're going to use it, but I will keep you in mind for future. The product sounds super useful. @bernatfortet great website design ;)

I started using Tandem this week, can't complain so far. There's room for improvement but the seamless hopping in and out of rooms to talk is great and makes it feel very natural vs "let's schedule a call"!

Hello, after I installed it and tried to open the software it did not work. It opens and instantly closes. I also checked the taskbar minimised apps and Tandem is not there. Windows 10, 64-bits user + really good pc configuration.

I like what I see as a remote worker because it's hard to keep clear lines of communication and this helps to do that. A bit more tweaks and Perfecto!

Remote teams are becoming more common and video is clearly a way to make individuals on remote teams feel more connected. I’m excited to see innovation in this space.
