Interesting idea and execution thus far is impressive!
I have one question regarding privacy.
>. For your privacy, we store all of the recordings locally on your Mac. Only you have access to them. Compression and Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) is all done locally. Recording data is never sent off of your machine.
Although recording data might not be sent off the machine, usage of GPT-4 does imply you're sending sensitive data to OpenAI (and thus off the machine).
Presumably you're embedding user's screen and audio data locally, which means that potentially the embedding process and definitely the response generation process both send data to OpenAI, which is a privacy concern.
Do you plan on implement on-device models in the future, as way to mitigate this?
I've been using Rewind for a while. Coming from someone who bookmarks compulsively, Rewind has been a dream. First, since I don't have to do anything proactively, there's never the "ah shoot, I forgot to bookmark that and now it's lost" moment. In fact, it's the answer to that moment "I'll just search in Rewind and find it" and then bookmark it. But second, since it's capturing everything, not just browsing, I've used it for rewinding meetings, finding command output in days old terminal windows, and finding that one link someone mentioned in Slack, or Discord, or Messages, that I couldn't remember.
I have adhd and this has kind of changed my life. So much of my life is starting something, getting distracted by something else, and then completely forgetting what I was doing before, where I found useful information, etc. It has really been a game-changer for me.
It also takes better meeting notes than I ever have. I downloaded it on a wim on launch, and even though I don't use it every day when I do, it saves me so much time trying to remember where I found or read something, and it saves me worry all the time because I am not trying to keep track of a million things at once.
I had to come back and write a review.
Any product manager or startup founder who's always on calls needs this in their life, no question. It's super convenient having everything in one place — I don't even have to think about finding a separate app for transcriptions, digging through archives, or rounding up my day's to-dos and meetings.
It’d be awesome if I could hook this up with my other apps through an API to streamline my GTD setup even more.
Quick question though: what's the difference between limitless.ai and rewind.ai? Also, will I be able to use the pendant I snagged on pre-order with the rewind.ai as well ?
[Best productivity apps].
For people who are serious about productivity, the most important thing they need is "self-objectification". Being able to look back on your day and see how much you've accomplished, and having an objective analysis of your behavior can help you close the gap between your goals and where you need to be.
I hope they release a mobile app as well, thanks Rewind team!!!
Rewind was great—but Limitless is a different product that's no different than any of the other dozen meeting note-taking apps. I'm giving this 1 star because it reflects the actual value of this product in comparison to it's launch on here as Rewind.ai and to balance out all the obvious fake reviews left by people (many say the exact same thing by different people).
This is the most exciting Mac app I've seen in a very long time. It totally changes the way I work. It delivers the promise of spotlight. One stop shopping to find something I did on the computer in the past but can't remember the details of. My favorite feature is how it records and uses AI to summarize my meetings. I can't live without this.
