I have been using Skype only for work. The new redesign is totally has transformed it in an app for teenager. Do they really want to lose all the Business customers to Slack and similar?
I'm using Skype by many years because was one of the most easy application to use for video call with family and friends, but later this year I have upgraded my dad PC with a new HD webcam (Logitech c920) with the hope to get a better quality from home. After few visual test I have realised the quality is not as expected, start to made more videocall test with some friends from another city what i know the have an HD camera and as well no HD quality. Want to say my home pc(dad pc) have a good CPU i5 quad core sandy bridge, with 8GB ram, ssd, internet speed 300Mbps, all drivers installed and still nothing the largest resolution I got is 960x540. Always the quality is on medium, the ping between me and my friend from another city is by 5ms our speedtest between us is by ~250Mbps, he have as well a good pc. In the end we give up of trying to made this to send HD quality.
Calls are dropped. Video quality is throttled. Annoying notifications no asked for.
