This is a great thread, thanks for starting it. I'm not a product hunt expert, but I asked people to roast my product page, and that's been helpful so far.
What is the BEST advice you can give to someone who's LAUNCHING soon?

Roast my product page?
Hi everyone! I'm planning to have my first launch in a couple of weeks, and I'd appreciate your feedback.
Here's a link to my product page:

What can I do to make this page better? I'm especially interested in what I can do to gain followers and get more upvotes on the day of launch!

I forgot to log in over the weekend and lost my streak (which was only about two weeks anyway). I was bummed at first, but then I started to wonder if it even really matters. Is there much benefit to having a long Product Hunt streak?

I hadn't even thought about this. I have definitely seen a lot of AI responses to HARO and HAB2BW queries from people who are using spammy tactics to try to get backlinks.
It didn't occur to me that people might be using bots to try to gain kitty coins. Seems extra silly.

Launching an MVP is great because you can find out what's working before spending too much time and money on development. If no one is interested in your MVP, it might mean you misidentified the problem you're trying to solve for your target users, or overestimated the importance of the problem. Maybe it's time to pivot and try something else.
I've recently been interested in this idea from...

If you already have a working blog or social media, it's nice to analyze what's gotten the most traction in the past and double down on that. Otherwise, I like using Semrush to see what ranks for keywords in my niche.

It's good to have both, but I've also been thinking much more about lifetime subscriptions recently.
It seems like many people have "subscription fatigue." They're tired of paying for things repeatedly. They want to go back to buying something once, then using it forever.
@abhishek_ux I noticed you created a lifetime subscription option for Speech to Note. Brilliant! Are many customers...

For me, the hard part is going from 0 to 1. When you're working on a product that has some traction, you can double down on what's working. Before you have traction, you have to think about what makes sense to try first (and what you can try without spending too much money).

It depends on the product or feature, but it seems like the golden rule is to measure how many people use it, and how often they use it. Facebook got a ton of funding early, even with very low revenue, because it had great market capture and many of its users came back to it every day.

For me, the management is more important than the company. Working for someone with poor values or who you don't respect makes the job miserable. Working for someone ethical and admirable can make any job feel worthwhile.

There are companies that offer code audit services. You can try one of those. Check their reviews and testimonials to make sure it's a reputable company, and not one that will return a half-baked audit as a way to sell you their dev services to "fix the problems."
The other option is to find someone with a coding background and get them involved with your team, either fractionally or full...

I recommend publishing content directly from your personal LI profile. This will get more organic reach then publishing through a company page. If you want it on your company page, too, then it can be helpful to publish from your personal profile before reposting from the company page. Hope this helps.

I highly recommend reading a book called The Mom Test. It will help you focus on addressing the customer's JTBD (job to be done) and steer clear of feedback that feels good but ultimately doesn't help.

I recently paid for a Product Hunt Launch Checklist. I use the one from Falak Sher because it was recommended to me, but there are others as well. It's been helping me so far, especially because I'm brand new to Product Hunt.
