Calling. Matter of fact video calling! Texting for me is to get quick responses but calling gives me a much better chance to have a deeper discussion. Not to mention I struggle with wording sometimes because things can come off in the wrong tone if you say text the wrong thing. Key & Pelee did a hilarious skit on this exact thing.

How do I get users to actually use my app?
My startup, SenseClub, launched on Friday and we initially got several 100 installs. But after a few days, no one has actually used the app. We are still seeing a ton of interest in our ad campaign, so I’m not sure if the issue is stage fright or a deeper technical issue. But we’re not seeing much evidence of the latter. Any thoughts on this obstacle?

Hello Product Hunters! SenseClub is a platform where self-care enthusiasts can connect, discuss, and find exclusive offers from brands that align with their wellness goals.
SenseClub was born from a search for the best wellness practices and products across dozens of websites. I realized the need for a community where people can share and discover self care practices and products all in one...

Everyone deserves a second chance. One or two mistake isn’t a terrible in my eyes. People want to learn and as long as there’s an effort given I’m willing to take that extra step to work with them.
What do we think of second chances?

MoviePass. It was a great idea, being unlimited movies for one low monthly price. Many theaters even adopted. Similar model after they fell. It was just TOO good. They burned through cash on user acquisition because they never planned for it to catch on so abruptly.
What it is the best idea you've seen fail? & why do you think it failed?

Wow just mentioned this in another thread, but receiving a lot of signups for my preorder campaign. I was hoping for about 200 preorders but in a little over a week I received over 750. I was always very hopeful that I was building something that people could enjoy, but now I know for sure I’m at least on the right track.

I started a preorder campaign using Google ads last week and it caught on pretty quickly. I was hoping for about 200 signups but thought that might be overzealous. After 10 days I have 750 people preregistered so I’m in awe right now. Super excited for my launch tomorrow.

How is your startup using AI?
I have a discussion forum so whenever someone posts a question, it answers them so they don’t feel like they walked away with no answer.
I’m interested to know some new and indirect ways your company is using it to improve your company.

So took a bit of a different approach. I didn’t do much of any research or validation. I just built something and every time I told someone about it they were excited to join. Because I skipped that critical step, very single time I get a follower or user I feel just a little more relieved I wasn’t caught up in my own delusion lol.
How did you feel when you found your first follower?

1. Figma 2. Canva 3. Photoshop
I’ve built my entire business off of these three products. Runner up would be Uizard. That one laid the groundwork for my UI/UX. I had no experience in this space and it was a great tool for getting my thoughts down on paper. Highly recommend.

It being able to sway opinions in mass. If someone with malicious intentions deploys they can make people with opposing opinions question their beliefs. I can be like arguing against a mob that doesn’t even exist.

I use Reddit a lot and there aren’t really any subs that are particularly helpful for promoting your product. You can find some great resources there and decent feedback (if the cynics don’t gang up on you lol).
In terms of brand awareness the culture of Reddit is pretty against it. Many people use it as a hobby site and will not be helpful if they believe a company is trying to exploit their...

You should focus on the biggest goal you’re trying to achieve. What do you want to be known for? Also consider there one that makes your message clear. Anyone reading about your product should understand what you’re solving the even if they aren’t your target customer. That way you’ll know your target customer will definitely understand. Hope this helps!
If your product solves many pain points how do you choose which to focus on in your messaging?

Did you run a preorder campaign for you app?
I’m running one for my social media platform and so far have about 600 signups. Got a late start so I only was able to run the campaign starting about a week ago. Plus I know they still have to download after getting the release day notification though so these aren’t locked in yet.
My app launches Friday and should hit about 750 by then. I was wondering if this is a good starting point or...

I’ve mainly traveled inside the US but will be going to Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic over the next few weeks so that should be nice. So far though I’d say Miami. Nice weather and it’s really beautiful out there. I’ve never seen another urban US city where chickens roam the streets like pigeons lol.

I would love this. I had been looking for some side work and wanted to give the startup market a try. Its hard to find these companies though, so I'd also like to know.
Are there any platforms where you can look for jobs in startup teams at Preseed / Seed or Bootstrap?
