Anyone using Stripe for their SaaS company? I need your opinion :)

Let's say you run a similar company to Dropbox, with plans including:
Free Plan (For Individuals) - $0.00
Professional Plan (For Individuals) - $10
The users that choose the Professional plan when they are checking out would be automatically registered to Stripe, BUT would you also register the Free Plan to Stripe OR would you just keep them in the CRM and only register them into Stripe when they convert to paid?
Any thoughts on this subject would be much appreciated!

I’d still register them in Stripe and create the relevant ids and such. That’s what we do at my startup (https://www.tethered.dev/).

@dan__cleary doesn't all the chart data & reports get inaccurate when you do that? Do you migrate your billing data to another platform like profitwell or chartmogul for better understanding/management?
@dan__cleary could you explain your company's reasoning?

Hey Mert,
You can also include free plan users to stripe, stripe provide customer portal where users will have option to update their plan whenever they want.
STOP using Strip
1. 3% + $0.35 per transaction - super high fees
2. They are a PAYFAC not a processor and can do whatever they want
3. Your are losing 2% of your annual net revenue
