I think we need alternatives to big tech because they often prioritize profits over user privacy and control. Building and supporting alternatives has tons of advantages for the bright future of the open internet, global communities, and web3. Let's discuss it!

Big tech companies often dominate their markets, which can lead to a lack of competition and innovation. Alternative tools can offer users more choice and diversity in the tools they use and promote healthy competition.

Yes!! Alternative tools are so important for competition and innovation. Take Adobe, for example. It basically had 0 competition for years, and what was the result? Buggy, slow products with an offering (creative cloud) that, I think, was designed to take advantage of their monopolistic position. Thank god alternatives arise with time, and we, as users and consumers, need to support the small projects that dare to fight the old, creaky giants, so that future tools are better than the ones of the past 😁

@bakemono I completely agree with you! Competition is vital for promoting innovation and driving companies to continuously improve their products and services. In the absence of competition, companies can become complacent and stop investing in research and development, leading to inferior products and services. As users and consumers, we have the power to support and promote alternative tools and products that can challenge the dominance of larger companies and provide better value and performance. By doing so, we can help to create a more dynamic and competitive market that benefits everyone.
