Which LinkedIn format is bringing you the best results?

I am not talking about the type of content covered in the post. Rather a type of format. E.g. For me it is usually: – the combination of the short text + photo – the combination of the short text + video – the celebration post (LI has the feature for this special post) What about you? (BTW, today I will also share a topic in my newsletter about LinkedIn. In case, you are interested, feel free to subscribe – see comments.)

Hi Nina, when you say ''results' I would track 'leads'. With LI/digital it's less of a funnel and more organic with multiple touch-points. Carousel Posts where you are giving your most valuable form of content (and can be downloaded) is not a bad option. Each panel view is counted as a view. It's also worthwhile experimenting with Polls that speaks specifically to your ICP's interests. Since they are constantly changing the algo, the goals posts are always moving. I'm keen to experiment with partnering with 3-5 other 'key people of influence' with 19k+ followers who are targeting the same ICP but with different product offerings to explore win-win collaborations. https://www.linkedin.com/in/will...

@wilisgreen how do you partner with people? As far as I know, you can tag them on image, repost their post or tag them. Is there any other way?

For me, the posts that work best are still ones where I'm celebrating something or just praising myself/someone else. It's actually sad because I love writing long texts and they are the worst at promoting.

@nickanisimov Praise and celebration will be the most outstanding. Sometimes it feels that they overrule content with useful tips. I was considering to merge it (celebration + edu).

I've found that posting short, engaging videos consistently brings the best results on LinkedIn. Quick tips, behind-the-scenes looks, or sharing a unique perspective on your industry all tend to generate good engagement. The key is keeping it concise and posting regularly to stay top-of-mind with your network. Mixing in some personal updates helps too for building genuine connections. Would love to hear what content formats are working well for others!

@lpo_mkj I agree that short videos work well. Do you ever incorporate captions for accessibility, and if so, do you notice a difference in engagement?

Consistently posting original content 2-3x/week, using creative visuals, and keeping posts concise yet compelling. Interactive poll posts seem to drive the most engagement lately. Also been experimenting with LinkedIn Live and seeing promising results - thinking of doing AMAs or interviews. What's working best for others?

Carousel posts with valuable downloadable content seem to be working well for engagement. Polls that speak to your target audience's interests are also worth experimenting with to boost results. LinkedIn keeps tweaking the algorithm, so it's a moving target. Partnering with a few other influential people targeting the same audience but with different offerings could be a winning strategy to explore - there may be opportunities for mutually beneficial collaborations there. Let me know what you end up trying and how it goes!

@evelynrosesinclair Your point about partnering with other influencers targeting the same audience is intriguing. How do you typically initiate such collaborations on LinkedIn?

I've found that sharing valuable, actionable content in a variety of engaging formats like carousels, polls, videos, etc. tends to drive the best results on LinkedIn. Experimenting with different types of posts and tracking engagement is key. Lately I've been thinking about partnering with a few other thought leaders in my niche to cross-promote and tap into each other's audiences in a win-win way. The algorithm is always changing so it's important to keep trying new things!

I find that creating valuable and shareable long-form content in carousel posts works well for driving engagement and leads. Including a clear CTA to download a resource related to the content is key. Polls that tap into your audience's interests and pain points can also boost results. The LI algo is always changing though, so it's important to keep experimenting! Collaborating with a few other influencers targeting the same audience is a strategy I want to test more. The more touchpoints the better since the buyer's journey on LI is rarely linear.

Great thread, everyone! I’ve noticed that LinkedIn's algorithm seems to favor formats that encourage interaction, like polls and carousel posts. Personally, I’ve had the best engagement when combining a short, punchy text with either an infographic or a 30-60 second video that provides quick, actionable insights.
