I've been in the website-building world for 3 years now. I currently run a successful agency at turbosites.net.
I've watched so many talented designers and developers go underworked because they lack the know-how to find clients, build systems, and design for B2B instead of for "aesthetics".

On Web Designers/ Devs & Marketing
More web designers and developers need to learn marketing and sales skills.
I see wayyy too many extremely talented folk that are underpaid/ can't find a steady stream of client work because they lack marketing knowledge.
I'm not the best designer by any means, nor am I a wizard with Adobe suite products. But because I learned marketing first, I can find work anywhere.
Thoughts?

Getting a SaaS out there as a solo developer is tough. One of the best things you can do is build a personal brand online and connect with other developers. Having attention at will from people who are interested in your experiences/ share your interested is invaluable as someone pushing products.

Compliment the prospect specifically when doing cold dms. Works well for most niches.
Or alternatively, don't pitch a call right away, just ask questions related to the problem you're solving, then transition into explaining your proposed solution.

Just Notion and Google Calendar for me!
Never personally found a need for "time-blocking" and productivity stuff like that, but that's just me.
I can create basically any type of database structure with notion, any kind of to-do list, etc. So it satisfies my need for everything to be MY WAY as well as be modular when things change.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on someone being a solo founder and "wearing all the hats" so to speak. Do you think it's possible to do well like that? Are there any applications/ software that would make it easier?
