There's little signal in the numbers at this stage. You've gotta actually talk to those 2 users - get on a video call with them and ask them a bunch of questions. Whether you pivot, double-down, or drop the idea depends on your conviction and what you learn from these users! What's the product? How did you get users to your landing page? What did they say in your waitlist survey - anything...

Interesting concept...I do think a side benefit of podcasts (I have a rock-climbing podcast and an intermittent startup--related podcast with @kwindla ) is that it's an excuse to talk with your friends.Did you try @Airchat or the 2nd iteration of @Clubhouse ? Both explored an async podcast format - vaguely adjacent to @Marco Polo. Neither managed to really take off, but both were compelling...

You pivoted from a virtual office ( Switchboard ) which seemed really compelling and timely with the pandemic, and had significant traction. I've personally felt the struggle of whether to pivot with a similar company, @Tandem . How did you navigate knowing when to pivot, and then how did you approach finding this new direction?

Just like actually coding, using Replit can take a wrong turn and end up feeling like banging your head against a wall. I burned through a bunch of checkpoints trying to get a simple button (kept seeing a blank screen), and eventually started over and it just worked. The promise here is incredible - I think in a few months even, many non-coders will be able to create pretty robust applications....

When makers launch on Product Hunt, they rally a community for a single day of support, discussions, and feedback. But on Day 2, there isn't a way to continue that engagement until they launch again. Now every product gets its own forum - e.g. p/cursor - and the discussions can continue. It's a way for product geeks to talk about their favorite products, and for makers to get feedback and...

Great question - maybe someone like @jordan_dearsley from @Vapi or @kwindla from @Daily.co / @pipecat could weigh in? I think the non-openAI infra for realtime AI has progressed really fast, so maybe there are just better, cheaper, more flexible building blocks outside of the Realtime API?

If the conference is really targeted and high quality, it can be pretty useful, but you need to approach it in a very targeted way. Generally, the move is to avoid the conference proper. In my first few launches, I struggled with fear - fear that the product wasn't ready, fear that people would see it and think it's bad (and that I'm a bad founder as a result), fear that people would use it and churn and be angry.
